Microsoft released Windows 8 computer hardware requirements, setting Windows 8 tablet computers must have a 5 physical buttons, and support for NFC ( near field communication technology ).

The following is normative abstract:

Physical keys: must have 5 physical buttons, the power button, the screen rotation lock key, Windows key, increase the volume keys and the volume down key, respectively.

Broadband: built-in broadband.

Display: resolution of at least 1366x768.

NFC ( near field communication ): support NFC technology.

Ctrl+Alt+Del surrogate key: if the tablet is not available for Ctrl+Alt+Del, Windows + power key to replace.

Storage: at least 10GB free space

Graphics: Direct3D 10 device w / WDDM 1.2 driver

Camera: 720p high-definition camera

USB: USB 2

Networking: wireless local area network ( WLAN ), Bluetooth 4 ( low power )

The system firmware: UEFI ( Unified extensible firmware interface )

Others: accelerometer, gyro and magnetic meter
